A hot spot for backpackers, Ella is a tiny hillside village in the Badulla District of Uva Province, Sri Lanka. The town is enclosed by plush mountainous surroundings, exquisite waterfalls, legendary caves, vegetation and boundless tea plantations, as well as numerous fascinating flora and fauna. It is perched at an altitude of 1,041 metres, 136 kilometres away from Kandy and 204 kilometres to the East of Colombo.
