Galle Face Hotel, Sri Lanka’s most prestigious mark, sits majestically facing the serene Indian Ocean in the heart of Colombo. The Galle Face Hotel, located alongside the Galle Face Green of Colombo, is a five star luxury beachfront hotel. A piece of history that still retains its old charm and traditions from being built in 1864 although it was refurbished in 2015. This palatial property is one of Sri Lanka’s notable landmarks, being the oldest hotel in Sri Lanka. Well known for the excellent service it provides, its experiences that keep with the old and new, the Galle Face hotel has always been promiscuous in giving the most comfortable stay in luxurious accommodation of 156 rooms with timeless interiors and opulent furnishings.
This hotel hosts a spa by L’Occitane, fitness centre, an outdoor salt water swimming pool which gives guests many experiences to enjoy leisure within the hotel. Meeting and banqueting facilities are available. In addition, this hotel also features a museum and library.

Superior rooms

There are two categories of superior rooms; superior queen rooms 27 sqm and superior twin rooms 30 sqm. These rooms are equipped with a minibar, safety deposit box, TV with satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

Landmark rooms

The size of each type of room within this category is 30 sqm. There are two categories of landmark rooms, landmark queen rooms and landmark twin rooms. Equipped with a minibar, safety deposit box, TV with satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

Premier rooms

The room size of each room is 40 sqm. There are three categories of premier rooms; premier ocean view room, premier ocean view twin room and premier ocean balcony room. Premier ocean view and premier ocean balcony rooms consist of king sized beds. They offer views of the sea. Equipped with a minibar, safety deposit box, TV with satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

Junior suites

There are three categories of junior suites; junior suite queen 50 sqm, oceanic junior suite 60 sqm and oceanic balcony junior suite 60 sqm. All these rooms consist of queen sized beds and offers views of the ocean. Empress suite

The size of this room is 140 sqm. Consists of three bedrooms, sitting area and a balcony, offering views of Galle Face green. The wife of Napoleon III; Empress Eugenie stayed in this suite during her visit to Sri Lanka in the early 1900’s. King Emperor Suite

The size of this room is 200 sqm. Offering views of the Indian Ocean and Galle Face Green. A personal butler will be at your disposal throughout the day. How to Get There

The hotel has a transfer desk that can provide transfer facilities to the airport at a cost.

You may pre-arrange an Epic Sri Lanka Holidays chauffeur facility for your arrival and departure transfers to and from the airport or to and from any point in the country. From the Bandaranaike International airport, it will take you approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes by road to travel 36km distance to the hotel. If you do utilize the Epic Sri Lanka Holidays Chauffeur facility you may also request to retain the chauffer throughout your stay in Sri Lanka at an attractive cost.

Alternatively, for a quicker transfer, you may request Epic Sri Lanka Holidays to arrange combined air and road transfers. Approx. 15 minute Scheduled domestic flights are available from the Bandaranaike International airport to Diyawanna Oya. Thereafter it is a 30 minute transfer by road from Diyawanna Oya to Galle Face Hotel.

We are also able to arrange for you exclusive private helicopter transfers (up to 4 passengers at a time) from any point in the country directly to your hotel or nearest helipad.
