The Hermitage by Edwards Collection

The Hermitage is a boutique villa spanning over an area of over six acres of virgin forest and is located on the edge of the Victoria Reservoir which attracts 41 species of birds that inhabit the area and also deer, monkeys and wild boar, making it a place of a sanctuary for ultimate relaxation and serenity.
It was once the abode of an ancient hermitage where monks used to live and grow herbaceous plants that were beneficial uses in the kitchen for the health and to this day it is still used to create healthy meals or traditional massage oils.
The interior of this hotel exudes a traditional Kandyan charm with its cultural designs and antique furniture. It was built and designed by well known architect, Channa Daswatte where he has incorporated designs of large spaces which would have awe-inspiring views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains in the distance with no air conditioning, since fresh air from the Hunnasgiriya mountain range comes into the building which is much healthier and cleaner. There are only three rooms in the villa which are well equipped with all modern facilities and luxurious bedding giving utmost comfort.
