How to Get There

The hotel has a transfer desk that can provide transfer facilities to the airport at a cost.

You may pre-arrange an Epic Sri Lanka Holidays chauffeur facility for your arrival and departure transfers to and from the airport or to and from any point in the country. From the Bandaranaike International airport, it will take you approximately 5 hours by road to travel 180 km distance to the hotel. If you do utilize the Epic Sri Lanka Holidays Chauffeur facility you may also request to retain the chauffer throughout your stay in Sri Lanka at an attractive cost.

Alternatively, for a quicker transfer, you may request Epic Sri Lanka Holidays to arrange combined air and road transfers. Approx 1.15 hours Scheduled domestic flights are available from the Bandaranaike International airport and from Colombo Waters edge to Castlereagh. Thereafter it’s a 4-hour transfer by road from Castlereagh Melheim Resort.

We are also able to arrange for you exclusive private helicopter transfers (up to 4 passengers at a time) from any point in the country directly to your hotel or nearest helipad.

Daily trains are available starting from approx. 6 am in the morning from Colombo fort running along the hill country to Badulla. The train ride takes approx. 7 hours to reach Haputale station. 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd class seat options are available and travelers who prefer a rustic but scenic experience may opt for this.
