Set on an elevation of 1200-meters and surrounded by the 20-acre Hilpankandura Tea Estate, Ceylon tea bungalow is a simple boutique-style bungalow. Ceylon Tea bungalows welcomes with warm hospitality for everyone seeking a holiday of relaxation in the cool climes. With two adjoining bungalows, the property comprises in total of 5 cozy rooms that provide amazing views of the valley with interiors that take you back to the 19th century. These deluxe rooms are extremely spacious and elegantly furnished with four poster beds and are named after villages of the surrounding districts, namely Appleby, Coniston, Grasmere, Windermere suite and Eskdale suite of the 19th century. Guests have opportunities to choose to dine in house or outdoor. Ceylon Tea bungalows serve both local and western cuisines. The guests are offered many activities such as hiking, mountain biking, badminton and trekking up to Lipton’s seat. Located in close proximity to most of the popular tourist destinations such as Nuwara Eliya, Haputale and Ella guests are able to visit all these places.

How to Get There

The hotel has a transfer desk that can provide transfer facilities to the airport at a cost.
You may pre-arrange an Epic Sri Lanka Holidays chauffeur facility for your arrival and departure transfers to and from the airport or to and from any point in the country. From the Bandaranaike International airport, it will take you approximately 6 hours by road to travel 200 km distance to the hotel. If you do utilize the Epic Sri Lanka Holidays Chauffeur facility you may also request to retain the chauffer throughout your stay in Sri Lanka at an attractive cost.

Alternatively, for a quicker transfer, you may request Epic Sri Lanka Holidays to arrange combined air and road transfers. Approx 1.15 hours Scheduled domestic flights are available from the Bandaranaike International airport and from Colombo Waters edge to Castlereagh. Thereafter it’s a 4-hour transfer by road from Castlereagh to Ceylon Tea Bungalows.

We are also able to arrange for you exclusive private helicopter transfers (up to 4 passengers at a time) from any point in the country directly to your hotel or nearest helipad.Daily trains are available starting from approx. 6 am in the morning from Colombo fort running along the hill country to Badulla. The train ride takes approx. 8 hours to reach Bandarawela station. 1st, 2nd and 3rd class seat options are available and travelers who prefer a rustic but scenic experience may opt for this.
