The Blue Water Hotel and Spa

Situated approximately an hour away from Colombo – making it easily accessible. This hotel is one of works of the famous architect Geoffrey Bawa, one of Asia’s most influential architects of the 20th century. The hotel is a good example of how Bawa deconstructs the barriers between structure and landscape.

A five star hotel of the 90s, designed originally by the famous Geoffrey Bawa, the hotel’s concept is open-plan and seamlessly blending in with its environment; a hallmark of the Bawa design. It is close to some of the historic landmarks nearby including the Richmond Castle in Kalutara and the Kalutara Bodiya. The hotel boasts of a large pool, with some parts shaded by coconut palm trees and overlooks the beach and ocean. Streams, fountains, ponds and water ways are heavily featured around the premises of the hotel. How to Get There

The hotel has a transfer desk that can provide transfer facilities to the airport at a cost.

You may pre-arrange an Epic Sri Lanka Holidays chauffeur facility for your arrival and departure transfers to and from the airport or to and from any point in the country. You may also request to retain the chauffeur throughout your stay. From the Bandaranaike International airport, it will take you approximately 1 hour 45 minutes by road to travel 78 km distance to the hotel.

If travelling from Colombo, 9 coastal trains are available from 6 am till 7 pm on weekdays and 7 trains available on weekends and public holidays. These trains depart from Colombo Fort travelling down to Matara making stops along the main coastal towns. It must be noted some express trains will not stop at Wadduwa station and may proceed to Kalutara but this would be a half hour tuk tuk ride away from your hotel in Wadduwa.

We are also able to arrange for you exclusive private helicopter transfers (up to 4 passengers at a time) from any point in the country directly to your hotel or nearest helipad.
