A day to test your luck on spotting Leopard; your chance for having an “eye to eye” experience with a spotted wild cat, bear, elephant or other. Proceed on a safari with a packed breakfast from the hotel well before dawn. The park is rich in bio-diversity; 44 species of mammals, 215 species of birds and 46 species of reptiles are resident in it. Of the mammals, Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, Sri Lankan Leopard, Wild water buffalo are popular species to spot. Fishing Cat, Golden Palm Civet, Red Slender Loris, Toque Macaque are some of the other mammals that can be seen in the park.
Of the birds, six species are endemic to Sri Lanka. They are Sri Lanka Hornbill, Sri Lanka Junglefowl, Sri Lanka Wood-pigeon, Crimson-fronted Barbet, Black-capped Bulbul, and Brown-capped Babbler. The park is also resident to about 90 species of migratory birds.
Lunch, back at the hotel, and return in the Afternoon by 1500 HRS to visit the Yala National Park to continue your safari and enjoy the evening ambience of the park.
